Ypres
In addition to medieval cities, Belgium is also known for the horrific past of the World Wars (WW1 & WO2). Ypres is known for its daily tradition in the Menin Gate, the Last Post. Every day, at 8 o'clock, the fallen soldiers are honoured by the members of the Last Post Association. Around Ypres several cemeteries can also be visited.
